Bloomington, MN —(Feb. 17, 2022)— Matica Corp., a leader in the payments and the secure ID markets, today announced it is now part of the Visa Approved Vendor Program (AVP). Through this program, Matica is now a fully approved vendor for PCI Card Production and Provisioning – Data Preparation.
Visa requires all its members to use only approved vendors for various personalization and data preparation activities. The Visa AVP is designed to ensure issuers, card manufacturers, card personalization providers and cloud-based payment providers meet the necessary security requirements based on the services offered and business classification type.
Matica became part of the AVP after undergoing due diligence reviews and on-site inspections in its data preparation solutions used for Offline Data Authentication (ODA). Visa verified and approved that Matica data preparation solutions can securely generate and manage certificates for contactless cards used to quickly pass through transit terminals.
ODA is ideal for transit stations that have terminals that are not always online or have less reliable connections to process payments. With Matica’s solution, payments can be authenticated if/when the connection is offline. Once the transit terminal is back online, the payment can then be securely processed – providing a high level of trust that the card presented is genuine.
