Matica’s PACS600 is a premium quality micro printer, perfectly suited for the most demanding ID card programs. It is capable of producing up to 120 single-sided cards per hour, though a double-sided configuration is also available. As a part of Matica’s PACS family, this 600 dpi card printer relies on over-the-edge dye sublimation retransfer technology to achieve top-notch results. The outstanding image quality, high security standards, micro print, as well as its adaptability, make this model the right choice for government, corporate or financial applications.

Ultra high resolution microprint for precise application

The defining characteristic of microprint is that the text or microstructure, which is generated in this manner, generally appears as a solid line to the naked eye and requires magnification to read. This feature can be frequently seen on bank checks, sensitive financial documents or banknotes, in addition to highly secure ID cards. Suitable for micro-text as well as fine line printing, this high-end model can produce sharp and readable characters as small as 1.3 pt. in size without the need for pre-processing. Crystal-clear reproduction of complex images and subtle graphical elements is similarly possible at this resolution. Vibrant colors, crisp tones and the ability to incorporate greater details are some of the additional benefits of a high definition printer.

Unprecedented security for demanding ID card programs

High-security ID cards, such as national IDs, driver’s licenses or employee access cards require extra care to prevent replication and tampering. The PACS600 unit itself comes equipped with diverse standard security features such as an electronic lock, Kensington-lock and IPsec data encryption. Microprint is also a possible anti-counterfeit technique, suitable for the ambitious ID card applications described above. Reproducing via simple photocopying or scanning at regular resolution with consumer devices would fail to capture the micro-text and result in a solid or dotted line, therefore making your ID cards harder to forge. A simple test with a magnifying glass can reveal the difference between the sharp characters produced with microprint or blurred characters that are a result of unauthorized reproduction.

Optional built-in and external modules for maximum flexibility

The PACS600 is customizable according to your individual requirements. Both internal and external modules can be added to configure this printer to suit its usage. Since sophisticated ID card applications normally require personalization on both sides of the card, the standard model already comes equipped for duplex printing, thanks to the factory built-in flipper module. A 200-card feeder (for cards with a standard thickness of 0.029 in) is similarly integrated. Further options include a bend remedy unit and a number of encoding modules. The former can be added to correct card bend after processing. A contact or contactless chip encoder, as well as a magnetic stripe writer are available as the encoding options. Moreover, PACS600 can be connected to single or double-sided lamination modules (Matica’s ILM-LS or ILM-DS) to increase the durability and tamper-resistance of your cards.
